Inspiration to Pray

Last week I jumped my weekly blog post due to a house arrest. My husband had surgery scheduled, he is back home “half way” the treatment, and there was a part that we were not expecting. I am to attend very closely an open wound and give him medical attention each 3-4 hours daily, besides having a baby, and all my other shores. Then go back to the hospital and finish the whole thing.

Prayer has helped us for these days to go easier and funnier. Yes, funnier. Prayer has helped me keep a good attitude for me and for him, keeping the humors low and the spirit high.

My husband is also a working man and cannot stay in one place for more than 30 minutes. We just learned to laugh at the situations we have in our hands of continuous medical care and baby assistance, for example trying not making a sound when baby is sleeping and I am changing bandages. I have at home two strong-willed family members. I even told my husband to lay down and play sick (if he moves too much around, the wound will not heal properly).

Besides all the fun of going around the house after husband and baby, I still had time to do some creations here and there. My inspiration for these was a life of prayer. Encouragement for a deeper life in prayer, because it is what it will walk us through when times change suddenly.

Prayer gives us peace and remind us of who we belong to, of His Peace, for He is The Prince of Peace.

Each illustration is made in English as well as in Spanish.

This post is a small window of our family life with all of you… family is a beautiful thing. Let’s take care of our families, they are treasures in disguise. Some of you may not have a family, or have families far away. God supplies people alone with His family.

Be blessed, and have a great week.

Cross Stitch Embroidery

Cross stitching is a passion in my life. I started cross stitching when I was going through a wilderness season and it has since then been with me. While I listened to God’s word on podcasts, while I meditated late at night, I would stitch in my kitchen table until midnight, enjoying the quiet and the inner talk with God.

RubiesGlow is a shop with the purpose to provide Bible verses when times get difficult and night draws near. This is the purpose the Lord gave this online shop. A visual Scripture will shine light and hope to your sight, refresh your heart and reaffirm your faith in Him. This is the season to impart blessings and care for your loved ones.

In the past, I have created my own cross stitch patterns for my home or to give as gifts. Also, I follow several online cross stitch shops that I have as favorites, from the commercial lines to independent designers. The Christian cross stitch patterns, specially, have been a gift that is so appreciated, always! Cross stitch embroidery is such a beautiful craft and what can be achieved with it “the sky is the limit”.

Short testimony: I remember giving a simple “get well” card with an insert in cross stitch with the phrase “Smile, God is in control” to a woman that was going through a difficult time. She found herself without work and dealing with health issues at the same time. She told me she placed the card on her bed stand, and she would look at it each morning. It became an encouragement for her to see something hand-made with a big smile made specially for her. Never underestimate the power of handmade gifts! This woman later found a good job, hired on the spot, and today she has a Masters in Physical Therapy and currently working in a hospital! Wow!

A new type of products in this shop is the sale of cross stitch patterns with Bible verses, for all the lovers of this craft! I have seen beautiful work from other established online stores, so I will put my grain of sand too in this area. This new pattern line will grow slowly, as I have also other duties both personally and professionally.

The first cross stitch item is, drum-roll please :

“Under His Wings I find Refuge” 8 x 10 UNDER HIS WINGS CROSS STITCH PATTERN

Perfect for an 8″ x 10″ frame. Let me explain this pattern briefly.

  • In large curvy letters: “Under His Wings”, our place of safety and peace.
  • In a smaller font just below: “I find”, emphasis on doing my part of the deal.
  • For last the word “REFUGE” in large cap letters.
  • All decorated with sampling stitches in various colors.

Bèzier Curves Illustrations

This week I am presenting items for the professionals, professionals in the making (students) and the techies!

There are so many professionals that are believers. God gave us all a profession and a mission, but many may be put down by having a Bible verse illustration that doesn’t do with the decor of their work area or studio. Some even keep God away from work!

These illustrations are discrete, formal, black and white illustrations of Bèzier curves and an inspiring truth written with a handwritten font at the bottom. When test printed these illustrations, they passed the test: sharp lines, elegantly and minimalist. If printing from home, remember to use photo quality paper (matte, semi-gloss or glossy). The difference is noticeable.

These Bèzier curves illustrations can be portrayed on a studio, a studying room, an office, your home office or creative place, yet they are mathematical functions. Like I said, for the lovers of this art.

This is an inspirational illustration for you:  you who have to study or work long hours.

The Bible verses included are:

  • Proverbs 3:13 “Blessed are those who find wisdom.”
  • Proverbs 3:5 : “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
  • Proverbs 3:6 “Seek His will in all you do.”
  • Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
  • Proverbs 3:1 “Store my commands in your heart.”
  • Proverbs 22:29 “Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings.”
  • Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
  • Mark 9:23 “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
